Baby shower present
I can now post a picture of the blanket, hat and booties that I made for Mandie and Josh's baby shower. I have to admit that I had to buy the yarn to make the blanket and such. But I just finished making another hat and hexipuff to finish out the yarn.

New work
I know it has Been awhile since I posted last. I started a new job on the 16th and I have been so exhausted. I am not used to getting up and getting to work on time. I have had little time to work on knit and crochet, which I am very disappointed. I have worked a little bit in the morning waiting to go to work.
I have been making hexipuffs for the KnitCrate challenge. It was slow going at first. But once I realized how to cast on, it has been smooth sailing. I have 11 done and need to get 13 more made before the end of the week. I also have made the striped one for the contest for January. Mi do enjoy making the hexipuffs because it uses a small amount of yarn and I have a bunch of little balls lying around and I am using them up.
I also finished a baby blanket for a baby shower for next weekend. I can't posted pictures until after the baby shower, don't want to ruin the surprise.
Right now I am working on a hat and booties to match the blanket. Hope to have them finished today.

Mini Blizzard
Well it has been an eventful couple of days. I haven't left the house since Monday. Old man winter is definitely back this year. We had snow Tuesday so bad you couldn't even see outside the windows. It seemed to stop around 10 so we thought it wasn't to bad. Woke up Wednesday morning and it was back. It seemed to snow all day long, some times hard so we couldn't see out. Thursday is so much better, work up to sunshine.
Since we were housebound, I was able to get a lot of stitching done. I did finish a baby blanket that I had been working on. I used up 4 more skeins of yarn from my stash. I did run out of the peach yarn but I got the length of the blanket finished, so I out a trim of white on it. I just need to weave in the ends. I think it came out really cute. I just need to put the blanket on my etsy account.
My next couple of projects are going to be for a baby shower Kenzie and I are invited to on Jan 25. So I have to get going. I have already started the blanket. I think I am going to either make a sweater or dress for the baby. I haven't decided yet.
I have joined the Knit Crate Bee Keepers Challenge. I have signed up to make 5 to 11 hexipuffs this month and 1 striped one. I haven't even started them yet. I had better get going.

January 6th
It is a very cold, windy, snowy night. What a good night to sit and crochet. I am currently working on a shell stitch baby blanket. I am hoping to finish before I run out of yarn. The polar vortex is certainly living up to its name. Hoping to keep power all night. Fingers crossed.

The Year of Destashing 2014
I have made a promise to myself to use up all the yarn that I have in bins in the attic. I must confess that I am a yarnohlic. I will not refuse any yarn that is given to me, or will I throw out any yarn. I know there will be a project that I can make with it, sooner or later. Well it is later now with 8 or so bins in the attic, I must use the stash up. This blog is going to be my journey as I use up my stash.
Ravelry.com is my main source of ideas and patterns. I absolutely love Ravelry.
So for the first pattern I used found this pattern Seaside Blanket by Craig Rosenfeld. I thought it would be perfect for the peaches and cream yarn that I had. So I made the blanket and I had enough yarn left over to make booties and a hat. So I am off to a great start, hoping to continue throughout the year.
